SIMPLE LEVEL 5
By completing Simple Level 5, without floatation equipment or support, I can;
- Tread water for 30 seconds in a stationary position (keep the head above the water without touching the pool floor)
- Perform 3 different shaped jumps into deep water (i.e. a pencil shape, star jump, tucked jump).
- Push and glide then swim 10 metres front crawl showing correct arm action technique (thumb enters water first, pointed/high elbows, arms above the water, alternating arm action.)
- Push and glide then swim 10 metres back stroke showing correct arm action technique (thumb leaves the water first, high arm above the water, turn wrist to allow pinky finger first re-entry, alternating arm action.)
- Push and glide then swim 10 metres breast stroke showing correct arm action technique (thumbs downwards in the water, arms moving simultaneously, high elbows.)
- Push and glide then swim 10 metres butterfly showing correct technique - leg action only (undulating action, legs moving simultaneously, powerful snap of the legs).
- Swim 10 metres under the water without rising to take a breath while blowing small bubbles (front crawl or breast stroke leg action only).
- Perform a surface dive to collect a sinker/object in at least 1.2 metre deep water
